Independent non-profit shares the voices of everyday Americans through animated shorts.
Storycorps believes every person has a story to tell. This independent non-profit shares the voices of everyday Americans through animated shorts, their podcast, and a weekly broadcast to over 12 million people on NPR. These recordings are housed in the U.S. Library of Congress and form the largest collection of human voices ever gathered. We were overjoyed to partner with Storycorps in a complete website and visual identity overhaul, delivering something streamlined and easy to navigate.
Storycorp houses an archive of thousands of emotionally empowering interviews and stories but they were virtually inaccessible to their enthusiastic user-base. We designed a sophisticated tagging system that melded the archive into a playful search space. Leading with compelling photography, use of color, and additional white space made the site more streamlined and modern. Our goal was to showcase meaningful ways of sifting through archival stories and videos that all have separate expressions and themes – we think of it as an experience time capsule.
